Lynn Jaquess-Pahl began her nursing career as an RN staff and charge nurse in several Emergency
Departments in Northern Virginia. On her arrival in the Charleston, South Carolina area, Ms. Pahl joined
the Low Country Regional EMS Council as an instructor for Paramedics and Intermediate EMT’s. This
advanced to the title of Education Coordinator for 12 counties and served as an examiner for the State
Board for Paramedic Certification.
Ms. Pahl worked closely with the physicians that brought Advanced Life Support training to the Lowcountry through the Medical University of South Carolina. In 1987, Ms. Pahl ventured into medical case management utilizing skills from emergency nursing to the Workers’ Compensation field assisting injured workers throughout the State of South Carolina.
In 1995, Ms. Pahl completed a two-year post-graduate course in Advanced Catastrophic Case Management and Life Care Planning through the University of Florida. Ms. Pahl became a board-certified Life Care Planner in 1996. Ms. Pahl has authored and co-authored life care plans since that time including life care plan reviews. Currently, Ms. Pahl functions as a Forensic Nurse Researcher specializing in record reviews and
comprehensive cost research. Ms. Pahl also participates on the Cost Framework Committee through the
International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals Life Care Planning section.
